So, whats MUN?

MUN. Model United Nations. Just like the United Nations itself, we consist of a few committees, such as the General Assembly, Human Rights Council, Security Council and Disarmament Commission, just to name a few. Students are being assigned countries to represent, and be an ambassador of. Basically, when you step into the committee room, you are no longer a Malaysian, or a student, but a delegate, ambassador of the country that you represent.

You discuss about world issues and you brainstorm and think of ways to reduce, or combat the problem based on your research, while making sure that the country's citizens and country itself benefits from it. That's the whole point of it all, that's what MUN Conferences are all about - finding a solution to issues and problems. It's really just that simple. No training is needed for this, no practice is needed for this. Of course, you need to present it in a room filled with other delegates, as scared and new to MUN as you are, despite their smug and arrogant, I-know-it-all face, but what the heck!

I'll continue to hopefully talk about what the committees such as the General Assembly, Human Rights Council and whatnot are in a tad few. Till then, Ciao!
